We were thrilled when Stan and Dean from Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roasters reached out to us for this project. Known for their uncompromising commitment to quality, it was no surprise that their expectations extended beyond coffee—right into their sound systems. And the moment we laid eyes on their mobile coffee shop, it was love at first sight. Sleek, fully equipped, and ready to serve crowds, this unit was a stunner.

I still laugh thinking about the moment I asked where we should drill through the exterior for cable routing—Stan and Dean didn’t find it quite as amusing. 😅
The brief was clear: be bold, deliver top-tier audio quality, and keep the setup discreet. It quickly became evident that a standard plug-and-play restaurant system wasn’t going to cut it. We needed to handpick components and engineer a custom solution tailored specifically to this mobile environment. With full trust and creative freedom from the client, we got to work.
The Gear
Two main challenges shaped our design:
- Durability – The system had to endure the elements, especially Gauteng’s notorious thunderstorms.
- Aesthetics – We needed to deliver rich bass without compromising the visual appeal by placing a bulky subwoofer in view.
After evaluating our options, we landed on a premium setup. We installed a pair of Tannoy DVS 801 8” monitors—robust with an IP64 weather rating and versatile enough to operate in 100V, 70V, or 8Ω configurations. They sound as good as they look.
For bass, we discreetly mounted a Sonance PS-S210SUBT dual 10” subwoofer beneath the carriage. Hidden from sight but impossible to ignore, its low-end response carries beautifully—even from across the street.
Powering it all is the SoundTown STCA360W 100V Line Amplifier, capable of running separate volume zones—perfect for businesses in dynamic, entertainment-focused environments.

Conclusion
This installation quickly became one of our favourites. The combination of quality equipment, thoughtful design, and the vibrant atmosphere of the Aroma mobile shop made it a truly standout project.
But don’t take our word for it—stop by 494 Atterbury Road, Pretoria for a coffee and ask them to crank it up. We’re confident you’ll agree: it sounds as good as the coffee tastes and smells.
Huge thanks to Stan and Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roasters for trusting us. We look forward to working on many more of your locations as your brand continues to grow.
